Synopsis

Filmmaker Arvin Chen combines a colourful visual aesthetic and a hilarious ensemble of urban characters in this romantic comedy with a twist.

Kai serves dumplings by day and learns French by night in a bookstore in preparation for a trip to reunite with his girlfriend in Paris, but unexpectedly befriends the lovely Susie, a clerk in the bookshop where he studies. Embroiling Susie in a plan to fulfill his ambitions by way of a dodgy underworld deal, the pair share a high-paced adventure through the night markets and alleyways of Taipei. –MIFF
