Over-rated. But you need to watch it at least once. Artsy but trashy, downbeat film about a drug addict who happens to be a cop. I thought the film didn’t do much with the interesting bits it had. It offers great direction, acting (Keitel is show stopping) and dialogue. But it gives you small portions. Not that impressed with this film, besides Kietel. I thought it offered the skeleton for a great film, which Werner Herzog’s “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans” is.
