Money can buy lots of things, but it can’t always buy respect — and that’s a tough pill to swallow for impatient Karan (Shahid Kapur) and his friends, who move from Bombay to New York City to get rich quick in this Hindi thriller. Although his father (Anupam Kher) has dedicated his life to hard work for steady pay, Karan is sure his brash financial schemes will pay off — even when greed and corruption get in the way.
there has been a theme i've been discovering in life. you don't have to be the most sought after famous person to be successful and respected. this movie is a great reminder of that. admittedly, this movie is a guilty pleasure but it has some real honest, deep moments. i can't speak for the guy who thinks this was one of the worst movies ever but the acting, direction, and camerawork are in top shape.
Much of the story is trite and cliched but doggone if the pretty (and good) actors and the verve and style of the film don't just make me not care about that. I enjoyed it.
