só podia encontrar bianca em filme francês
Perfect ending. The love triangle between Odile, Franz and Arthur is very similar to Juraj Jakubisko's 1969 Czech New Wave film 'Birds, Orphans and Fools.'
GODARD'S GREATEST NEW WAVE GANGSTER MOVIE with Anna Karina's outstanding act... as Pauline Kael described about it "t's as if a French poet took a banal American crime novel and told it to us in terms of the romance and beauty he read between the lines , This lyrical tragicomedy is perhaps Godard's most delicately charming film." and yet it's greatest movie today...
this was one of the first films i watched when i started getting into cinema, and now that i am a more 'experienced' film watcher(?) i decided to see if its original charms that got me into the big beautiful world of real cinema still endured, and they do! even more than ever as i could point out a lot more things that i thought were neat
i loved the beginning/middle of this movie but it fell apart at the end for me. there were some obvious continuity issues that i'm surprised aren't being discussed, ie: they keep saying they'll break into the house at midnight, how the night air is good for the skin, all of these things referencing that it is clearly night time. when they go outside its DAY TIME! can someone please explain if i'm missing something??
Godard at his finest, Band Of Outsiders is his love song to Paris, noir and well...love itself. The Madison dance scene is one of the most iconic in cinematic history and the premise has been done over more times than you can shake a stick at. I love the narration over some scenes, rendering dialogue useless, and the scenes between Franz and Arthur (especially their fake shootout at the beginning) are classics.
I watched it last night and I totally enjoyed it. I loved the dance and the running through the Lourve.
How great is that moment when they all decide to be silent and Godard cuts all the sound. This movie is truly cinematic joy. Yet, it's not my favorite of his- there are many I like more.
This is quite a low three for me. It kind of annoyed me, and it made me want to go watch other, and better, Godard movies. It lacked any sort of playfulness that it seemed intent on dishing to the audience, except in the dance scene, which was, in itself, quite brilliant. Right now, this is my least favorite Godard. Savvy
Playful, revolutionary and fun. I love just about every frame of this; this and Breathless are tied as my favourites of Godard's films at the moment.
Perhaps the "coolest" movie ever made. Brilliant long takes, stunning dialogue and master cinematography make "Band of Outsiders" a timeless classic.
I'm not huge on this movie because I hated every single character, but I give it an extra star for the delightful cafe scene.
