Emma is several months’ pregnant when she is diagnosed as having breast cancer. The doctor advises her to have an abortion, the treatment being incompatible with pregnancy, he claims. Shattered by the news, Emma is on the verge of sacrificing the child. Her companion, Simon urges her to consult another doctor, who tells her that she can undergo treatment without interrupting her pregnancy. Emma regains hope.
