Absolutely excellent! Also I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was filmed at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.

One of the more simply delightful films I've seen in some time. The character of Chance is so delightful and the story so simple yet fascinating. Took my breath away. Simply a great film.

Possibly Sellers finest moment in film.

Excellent photography, excellent actings and a beautiful subliminal message! There are similarities with the 1998 Holy Man...

A fine film, but Hal Ashby should be posthumously fined for putting that blooper reel in at end.

"Being There". Sort of a Forrest Gump spiritual precursor. An amazing performance by Peter Sellers.

I disagree with the last poster, this a very entertaining film. It's the story of a man breaching the corridors of power, an exploding of a closed world and all its absurdities - or, better still, how friends are won and influenced. NB: I second Jake Mulligan's point bellow: erm, it should be changed.

Smart, stately, and maybe even profound, but a little stuffy and musty with age. It's a delicate, elegant film, but again, too fine-boned to make out any of its features. And finally, it may be important but it's not all that, well, entertaining.

Although I am not a fan of Peter Sellers, this movie is a favorite of mine of all times.

Nice idea, message and acting performance, but also a bit naive and too slow so it gets boring.

Sellers, the greatest comedic actor of all time, giving what might be his finest performance

As a comment on our outlook on life, the confusion of televisions influence, the discourse and complexity of politics, the film gives a rather positive answer. Harmony and peace in life is all a state of mind. However, the execution of that idea, while technically quite marvelous, wasn't really felt by myself. Sure, Sellers gives an incredible, nuanced performance, but the pacing was lacking, and at times I felt myself quite bored. The message is strong and relevant, but I had some problems with my engagement with the film.

Hilariously compares childish thought with figurative conversation. Brilliant. How did Sellers never win an Oscar?

I started out skeptical about this film, and became unfortunately disheartened during the first hour--fearing the Gump Complex (that perhaps I'd seen a worse version of this film)--but things changed quickly from there. By the time the film ended (and I watched the entire credits) I was laughing so loudly I'm sure I woke someone up. But it's not the laughter I'll remember, but the moments of introspection that ensure this film, like *Network*, are brilliant and continually relevant critiques on modern Western society that are few and far between these days. Bravo.

Peter Sellers should have won the Oscar! This contains fantastic cinematography and perfomances to remember. They just don't make movies like this anymore.

Beautiful interior shots compliment this bizarre satire and give incredible warmth to an already heartwarming story. Peter Seller's even manages to seduce men and women alike with his insightful remarks. Very true to the book minus a few scenes.

One could discuss Peter Seller's performance, Jerzy Kosinski story, or Hal Ashby's style. Whatever it is that is most vibrant this comes across as a masterpiece of unequivocal prestige.

One of the many movies to showcase Peter Sellers' genius; particularly his range as an actor - comedic or otherwise.
