you know what ol' Jack Burton always says...
Glorious, unrestrained absurdity! I love this movie.
Probably the most chaotic and fast pace movie I've seen. Absolute madness from the beginning right to the end. The acting is poor and there's a fair share of cheesy dialogue, but I love it. So damn entertaining and over-the-top.
One of my favorite acid trips from John Carpenter and Kurt Russel, among the greatest actor-director duos.
The IFC Center in New York is playing this in February as a part of John Carpenter week. Can't wait to see Lo Pan and old
Jack Burton on the big screen.
Wonderful action hero pastiche and Hong Kong action movie homage. Marvelous economy of story telling. A brilliantly realized personal vision that somehow still speaks to multitudes.
Jack Burton is probably the coolest person evar
I want to live in this movie.
black magic, sorcery, and monkey sacrifice
“Ready Jack?” “I was born ready!”
Son of a bitch has gotta pay.
I learned all of my Chinese mythology from this film.
An enjoyable film with just enough tacky effects to keep one interested. Nothing too spectacular though.
jack burton - the legend.
Enjoyable, funny, under-rated most definitely! I won't call it a master piece, but it's totally good for its genre and age.
B-film, classic and under-rated.
Probably would have flippin' sweet to see in the theater.
A masterpiece of off-the-wall eccentricity. Kurt Russell's performance is nothing short of genius. Carpenter didn't make one less-than-excellent film in the 80s, not one.
Absolutely love this movie. Really fun to watch. Great chemistry between Kurt Russell and Dennis Dun.
I didnt get it, maybe it had to be the 80s/90s
By far the best...aaaand most enjoyable film ever made ;) I literally watched it over 100 times. "nothing or double, jack?"
A childhood favorite of mine.
damn this is one of the most enjoyable films ever made, carpenter may not be so much of an auteur, but he certainly knows how to entertain
Carpenter knows how to entertain.
When I'm watching way too many austere heavy dramas and feel like the world isn't worth living in, I have to watch this movie. It reminds me just how fucking fun a movie is allowed to be. Not to mention Kurt Russell is a goddamn hunk! ...
