this film is actually from 1929 and is called Kuro Nyago. for anyone interested this film can be found on disc one of the wonderful "Japanese Anime Classic Collection (1928 - 1950)" four disc set out on the Digital-Meme label, it can be purchased from amazon.com for a rather hefty sum ... otherwise you can watch it for free on youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHkfPR8p-y8
