The Forbidden Douchebag

"*Spits Raisnette* Ssshhh-shit."
The entire climax from the fight at WB Studios to the the premiere of the film is absolutely amazing.
In my circles over the last 3.5 decades, the debate was Blazing Saddles vs. Young Frankenstein. For my money, it was and always will be Saddles. "Now go do that voodoo that you do...so...weEELLL!"
Blazing Saddles was once great, but it is hardly funny anymore. Its time has passed. While watching it last night, I noticed that I was cringing and becoming impatient with its misogynistic, racist, and fart jokes. I didn't laugh even once. Watching the great Madeline Khan being tied up and slapped was not funny at all. Its humor is dated.
Mel Brooks is by far one of the most gifted comedic geniuses in cinematic history. This film is classified as the "ultimate western spoof" and equally one of the most brilliant satires since -- sadly a film like this couldn't get made these days unless you go outside the 'system' like perhaps Gibson did with Passion and Apocalypto. If you haven't seen this film it is a must. Period. Staggeringly funny and biting.
Very funny and interesting, but the connection with the present... it's no good.
"Excuse me while I whip this out". Classic, hilarious, must-see. Everything you've heard about it is true. Mel Brooks before he started repeating himself and his films got annoying.
It's so friggin' awesome! The niggs! The boobs! The farts! The swearing! It's one of the best comedies of all time!
