Really disappointed by this. Great actors, great premise...but somehow it doesn't quite take off.

In re the synopsis from the allmovie guide featured above, the following note. Theo Van Gogh was not murdered by "political extremists" but a single man motivated by what he considered to be the negative portrayal of Islam in the director's 2004 film, Submission. Said the murderer at his trial, "the (Islamic) law compels me to chop off the head of anyone who insults Allah and the prophet".
