After five years behind bars, Isaiah Bone (Michael Jai White) finally has the freedom to do what he wants. And the first thing on his list? Getting revenge for a fallen friend who asked him to take care of his wife and child should anything ever happen to him. Of course, meting out justice — Bone-style — will require total and complete immersion in the underground fighting scene. Eamonn Walker and Julian Sands co-star.
Blood and Bone is perhaps not a great movie, but it IS an unashamedly straight up modern piece of exploitation cinema - and a very satisfying one at that. Unlike its big budget brethren, Blood and Bone actually dares to show its well designed, well executed fight choreography. There's very little of the typical chopped up tight angle crap on display here. Lots of master shots instead. Was I entertained? Hell, yeah!
Martial arts enthusiasts need to see this flick for the final fight alone, where "Spawn" (Michael Jai White) takes on "Kamen Rider" (Matt Mullins) in one of the best spars ever filmed.
