Synopsis

Rebelling against his ho-hum existence in a small Arizona town, Nick (Tim Roth) abandons his girlfriend, Beth (Bridget Fonda), and strikes out in search of something different. Encouraged by her best friend, Carol (Phoebe Cates), Beth reluctantly accepts the romantic attentions of a local housepainter (Eric Stoltz). When Nick returns, the stage is set for a comic chain reaction among four people whose lives have suddenly become intertwined.
