Beautiful, but obvious cinematography; Ennis' realization in Jack's house was very nicely acted, and was well worth the wait.
Beautifully rendered in all facets of its filmmaking. Achingly tender and tremendously moving all in all.
Quality film overall. Slow start, though. And the end could have been more tragic without losing its subtly. Brilliant acting all round.
Not gonna lie, my favorite part was the Dylan song in the credits. It felt 45 minutes too long but a great film nonetheless.
I've never cried during this film but I'm left absolutely heartbroken for hours after.
Ang Lee's films are always well acted and crisply photographed but can be a little cold. However, this is his warmest and most emotionally involving effort to date. It's a weepie that doesn't manipulate the audience into shedding tears. Both leads are absolutely magnificent but the late Heath Ledger is the soul of the film as the cowboy whose passion for Gyllenhaal extends across two decades. A stunning achievement..
one of the best films I've ever seen, the best love story I've ever seen and the ending left me sobbing for hours.
When I first saw this movie it used to be simply a reason for me "fangirl". But know when I watch it I can realize it's a great film.
Not only is the cinematography stunning but the emotions are dealt with exceptionally well. Everything is subtle and held back, but if you pay attention to the details you can feel the tremendous amount of emotion these characters are dealing w/o knowing how to express them.
Not much.Basic hollywood good work. The development of characters non adequate.I couldn't feel so much the struggle and toughness of being gay in the 60s-70s.I couldn't feel the sadness of the two protagonists who could not live their love in full extent.Of course i don't wanna be negative and hater here but i emphasize in disadvantages of this particular film because i expected more...
One of the best films I may have ever seen, the entire cast is perfect in the dictionary definition of perfect: complete beyond theoretical improvement. Everything is a metaphor for everything: the length of the film, the mountains, the word "Brokeback," the different homes. It's smart. A love portrait that is real, beautifully filmed, and the score may be the saddest bit. (Michelle Williams = unsung hero).
Yo this movies mad gay son.
One of the best and saddest movies i've ever seen. No gay-cliches. And this is awsome.
A truly appalling film. Illiterate, uninteresting, ridiculously over-long and about as realistic as Mickey Mouse. I managed 30 minutes before switch off time.
powerful and moving film... it has had a huge impression on me
Out of all of the amazing films dealing with homosexuality, THIS earned awards and got very popular? Overrated. Way overrated.
Good movie, but the makeup on Ledger at the end is laughable.
O Segredo de Brokeback Mountain é, antes de mais nada, um filme universal, num patamar que só Ang Lee consegue atingir. Nessa revisão, cresceram as performances.
i really wana a "happy ending" to this movie
I really disliked the first 20 minutes, but eventually I was pretty wrapped up by the story and it had a huge emotional pull in the final half hour or so.
Superb entire cast, love the cinematography, but unfortunately less emotional connection with me.
we did not own, so I do not mean a homosexual love story
eh,jangan salah sangka dulu ye kalo ane emank suka ama nih film.....!!!
Maybe I just don't relate to the characters in almost any way, but this movie didn't really connect for me. I felt that the acting was weak, and I didn't really see the characters as having any kind of emotional connection... on the upside, it was beautifully shot, the music was great, and it had plenty ambition. Maybe I just expected more, IDK.
Honestly, a little let down by this. Being queer, and living in a conservative town I was excited to see a mainstream representation of gays that was far from stereotypical, but I felt the finished project was fairly dry. As a step for queer cinema, and taken only as that, this was a pretty fantastic accomplishment, but the way cinema goes other love stories have better conflicting love interested characters.
Balled my eyes out the entire drive home from the theater. And when I bought it to watch it again, bawled all over. Balled or bawled?
I prefer Cold Mountain myself, but I love barebacking it....;-)
a movie that stays in your heart. One thing is totally annoying though: why the cast, director, critics are always apologetic saying: "THIS IS NOT ONLY A GAY MOVIE, BUT CAN BE UNIVERSAL"!!!!
FIRST: what is wrong in being ONLY a gay movie
SECOND: have you ever heard people saying about, for instance, IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE things like "THIS IS NOT ONLY A STRAIGHT MOVIE, IT COULD RELATE ALSO TO GAYS"
