Downright laughable at parts, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't keep my attention.
One of the most bizarre genre blends I ever encountered, some of which just didn't work. The martial arts fighting felt way out of place. Still a decent pop-corn flick.
Refreshing blend of serious costume drama, monster horror and pulp action that unfortunately has a number of serious problems. This director needs some mentoring from Guillermo Del Toro.
What a waste of talent. Christophe Gans was just not a good enough director to make this work.
i really liked this movie. i was younger when i saw it, and i was excited about movies like this, so now it is more of a pleasure to watch than it is a great movie.
One on hand I do consider this film completely underrated , Vincent Cassel proves again what a fantastic actor he is but despite having a terrific epic line to follow the story gets extremely boring and the characters dont even seem to try their best at acting.
