Life on the mean streets of Angola is played for laughs in this satiric comedy from director Francisco Cafua. Inspired by the Brazilian film City Of God and the many similar movies that followed in its wake, Balas E Pistolas depicts a city where violence is a constant presence and conflicts are often answered with gunfire. But in Cafua’s parody, practically everyone argues about practically everything, shooting first and asking questions later is the way ordinary folks do things, and most of the economy is centered around drugs, prostitution and other illegal enterprises.. —Rovi
I saw this film at 2010 IFFR. It's formally innovative, electrifying and hilarious. I can't wait to see it again.
