Winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1998, Bunny, is its director’s Chris Wedge fantasized view of death. An elderly widow rabbit, who uses a walker with plungers on the bottom, is in her kitchen one night baking a cake. A pesky and persistent moth bangs about the kitchen, and while the rabbit tries to dispose of it, it soon begins inviting Bunny on a voyage of reunion. Among Blue Sky Studios’ early projects (other include effects work for Fight Club, Joe’s Apartment, and Alien: Resurrection,) the studio would later associate with 20th Century Fox to create animated features, beginning with the successful Ice Age in 2002. –Forbidden D.B.
