Me too dude, me too.
Fantastico.
After every tirade I was waiting for everyone to yell "ACTING" and then bow to the audience. A pretty atrocious bore with embarrassing performances. I'm usually down for cinematic translations of stage plays but this one plays poorly.
Very solid performances!! Only few actors can do this. They are very natural, and the script is amazing!! I would love to see this on stage!!
An entertaining play adaptation with solid performances. Despite the nagging feeling that something was missing by the time it ended I did enjoy Carnage.
It's not bad with fair acting, especially by Waltz. It just comes as nothing more than a vile satire danced by characters on a territorial level of consciousness. A lost opportunity to do something really interesting.
Definitely, a superb performance. I will not give a damn on its technicality, because the fact that it is a stage play adaptation makes it hard to establish the kind of attention and pleasure one can get from watching a stage play, especially the microscopic observation and awareness we need to have for every character. Job well done, Polanski!
A great screen adaptation of Yasmina Reza's play. It is fun to see the escalation ensuing from the couples' off-track discussion over their perspective of gender, marriage, livelihood and family. These discussions are a weak effort from each character to enforce their logic onto the other, driving the point home that this is the root of all carnage and chaos. Good to watch after having an argument.
i enjoyed how the animosity between the characters developed slowly....like a pot of water coming to a boil on low heat.
Some may find the translation to the screen to be stifled and unnecessary, but the cast puts in some of their best performances, and Polanski is more on point than he's been in years.
Maybe it's just because I'm a male, but I thought they did a really good job of making the women seem completely insane compared to the men.
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?".
