Lets start a 3 stars for Casablanca club
Maybe not as great as Citizen Kane, but it is still nearly perfect. It is one of the greatest love stories. Its story grabs me tightly and maintains my interest. But seriously, what can we say about great films like this that has not already been said?
THE definitive American classic- and for good reason. "Casablanca" earns its reputation as a truly perfect movie, and is a must-see for all.
I'm a true disciple of 30s and 40s Warner Bros, but I just do not feel the swooning love for this movie. It's great alright...but it feels like Brand X Classic Movie, and not even the best work of these two stars.
Un chef d’œuvre, si ce n'est le chef d’œuvre Hollywood, ce que le cinéma sait faire de mieux !
Aside from the obvious great parts (Bogart, Bergman, & the rest of the cast) I love how well and clearly the story is told, especially considering the context and the events that were taking place at the time.
Tinha enorme preconceito com relação a filmes mais antigos. Até assistir Casablanca.
This is more than a war story. It is a story about the love between two people and and how world events brings out all the emotions they are both dealing with. Casablanca is a movie everyone should see!
Casablanca is one of those romantic movies that speak of love indirectly. Also features a tension situations (especially in the final moments of the film), which give an even more monumental story. It's like an act of courage, love in wartime. rs. That's it. Classic is classic for nothing. And neither should be seen only because it is classic. It is a delightful film, current, and sensational. And very romantic.
Still the first movie that comes to mind when I think of classic Hollywood. Watching this movie is pure cinematic bliss and I could watch it over and over again. Everyone involved is at the top of their game - Bogart, Rains, Lorre, Henreid, Bergman, Greenstreet. It's lofty reputation might be hard to live up to, but Casablanca does so. This movie never fails to bring a smile to my face.
This is a cult film, par excellence. There are parts i know by heart but i they always move me. There are phrases that entered in the vocabulary of everyday life. Boggie and Bacal certainly make an outstanding couple but here there is also a chemistry between him and Ingrid Bergman. The secondary roles are also amazing and this is the beginning of something magic
The pinnacle of Hollywood Studio movies. Everything fell into place on the Warner Brothers lot in 1942 - perfect script, perfect cast... Bogie and Bergman have terrific chemistry and a supporting cast to die for!
