Great film about disturbing subject. Entwines two plots together in very elegant way and builds up it's atmosphere in great measures towards end. Of course it's an important aspect too, that it is based on true events. I recommend!

Seemed flat upon first viewing; got to watch a VC-1 at 47.952000 fps and the cinematography turned brutal. A brilliant exercise in Tom Stern's ideal: very cinematic, almost theatrical, and big yet with a soft stylization that reminds me of the older Eastwood before 'Bloodwork'. (III/V)

It's one of the most underrated films of the last 10 year IMO.. Although I don't love it as much as I did on first viewing, it's still a taut, compelling, and disturbing drama.

Brutal (true) story and excellent casting - everyone is perfect in their roles. About the rest, Clint Eastwood knows how to do it. He is slowly becoming one of my favorite directors.

I don't like Clint Eastwood, but - though it's not an amazing film - I think this one is maybe one of his best, maybe even HIS BEST ^_^ which still doesn't mean its an incredible film. In comparison to his most liked last film (Gran Turino), where the acting was so incredible bad, this one is well or lets say: at least 'okay' played.

A.Jolie has done a good job, though i am also not a huge fan of her. C.E. has a good nose in finding stories which he can overfill with pathetic clichés and in this case this one is not an exception, but i think it's okay, and this time it was not embarrassing, but a work you can take serious, really serious. who has thought that CE is able to make a film out of a female view, not even that bad made, without cowboys who are telling you stories about their balls xD (quotation from "Gran Turino"; what an outdated old man he is... in thinking & seeing the social world) and with a story which is able to catch your feelings. i not. though it's still not an incredible film, it's somewhat catching and worth to spent your time if it is played on public tv

and it seems that even Cowboy Eastwood has seen Björk in Lars von Triers 'Dancer in the dark'. though... this is a totaly other cathegory and qualitity!

I like Clint Eastwood, but this one seemed just a movie designed to make you feel anguished all along. It has nice moments, but is far from his best.

i like how clinty darling lambasts jessica lange's performance in frances as ham acting and then gives us hamola of the highest order in angelina jolie's histrionic-laden wailing in changeling.

When I read the synopsis of this movie I thought it would be hard to escape from the cliches. But once again (and what i admire the most in Clint's works) is that he can explore any plot in a very original way and style. Once again, Clint deserves the applause.

I was quite insulted why this movie got snubbed in the Academy Awards. A great movie! Angelina Jolie's real acting.

Perfect proof of why Mr. Eastwood is one of my favourite Hollywood directors. Changeling is gripping storytelling with wonderful cinematography, beautiful set and costume design, fascinating characters and great performances. It also inspires to check out the horrendous, true story of Christine Collins and her achievements.

This movie is beautiful visually. The music is top notch. The plot is compeling and the villain unforgetable. The problem with it is that there is not one likable male charecter in the whole plot. It takes a reverse mysoginistic view on men in general and it aggrevates as much as if you were watching a mysoginistic film. This may explain Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino which created an over likable male lead and may have been an artistic response to Changeling. I guess someone had to make this film the way it was made I'm just glad it was Eastwood that did it.

while i was on my way from london to lodz (poland) i was forced to watch that film as there was o tv-set and dvd player on the bus. and must say this movie is just a schematic, mediocre hollywood drama. the moment angelina jolie said to the doctor at mental hospital that he was a pimp i burst out laughing - it was so artificial, unreal. to sum up: painful to watch if you're fan of european cinematography.

dookie. well, maybe i'm a tad bias. i wanted some more nitty gritty on the psychology behind the murders and less about the mum. who, as a main character, was pretty uninteresting. you didn't really want to feel bad for her, you know? shit. maybe i'm heartless. i wish i could explain better why i thought this movie sucked.

There is a reason why Eastwood s one of the best directors around. His no-nonsense style and ability to get great performances from his peer actors make him a real gem. When Eastwood directs, I pay attention. Changeling is one of those movies I wish I had directed. Jollie's performance is remarkable. She is an amazing actress, underrated. This movie is a real jewel.

A puzzle of Hollywood cliches and cheap drama. And no, Eastwood is not one of the best directors, the only good thing that came from him is Mystic River, everything else is Hwood first class bullshit.
