it's because you fail to understand it.
Egoyan gets Amanda Seyfried out of her clothes yet STILL manages to make the dullest film in memory. This guy is hopeless!
Atom Egoyan, as usual, examines the human mess inside beautifully sterile designed environments. This marvelously filmed drama is a more restrained trip through the territory "Basic Instinct" plunged into.
Great dramatic irony. And a very good job on Chloe's part baiting the good doctor.
Not particularly suspenseful (and the twist seems to come about half an hour too late), but it's a thought-provoking, smart movie that seems stuck in its own genre and plotting.
Meh. I knew what was going to happen throughout the film. There were zero surprises and little of interest. Even the sex was bland. Meh.
Now I know what a "psychotic bitch" is, it's Chloe... hahahaha.... It lacks something. But actors are great..
I could stare at Amanda Seyfriend staring at Julianne Moore all day. shallow & not twisted enough for me.
A boring, sub-Closer sexual psychodrama that really goes nowhere. And way to waste Liam Neeson…
Like a cheap tv movie with fancy actors and fancy locations. Boring and predictable. Amanda and Julianne did well, but that can't save the movie.
Basically a pulp psycho-thriller dressed up as a prestige erotic drama, but crafted by a filmmaker on the caliber of Atom Egoyan, and with this cast - Amanda Seyfried, in particular, is surprisingly effective - it manages to be satisfyingly entertaining. A great looking picture, sexy, sleek, and packing a preposterous plot twists or two, but worth watching.
I don't think that it's such a bad film. Egoyan adds so much to the initial story and Julianne Moore is really, once again, amazing.
Most likely the worst, but most unintentionally funny movie I've seen in a while. So painstakingly predictable and horribly written I kept on laughing throughout the whole movie. Someone should make a fake horror trailer of it, titled "CHLOE - She'll fuck (up) your family". Simply put: AWFUL.
