Synopsis
Based on the internationally acclaimed Brazilian TV series City of Men, the movie is a coming-of-age story of two young boys, who are trying to survive in the drug-lord ruled,ruthless streets of Rio De Janerio’s slums. Acerola and Laranjinha, have been best friends since they were born; though, when they turn 18, they discover new clues about each of their own missing father and these puts their friendship into a deadly test by putting them in the middle of a war between two rival drug lords…

Fantastic end to the series, and I think it holds alot more power if you watch the series first.

City of God is one of my all time favorite pieces of cinema, so checking out the companion film was something I was interested in. Its by a different director, but kid of about the same sort of subject matter. Some of the same techniques, but not as gritty and powerful as City of God. Its more of a made fore TV type of favela film.
