Juan Cruz is running against time to get his work ready on time for a prestigious photo contest, but his bosses in the ad agency he works are determined to get him off that task as well as from his “natural” environment: the Córdoba high class. The mission consists in diving into a Mona Jiménez concert to capture the spirit of the cuarteto music universe with his camera. But once he gets into the packed dance club, he will find himself unexpectedly chained to a complicated series of events that start with him meeting Sara (with whom he falls slightly in love), an enchanting but dangerous young woman from that scene; and an entry to the local mafia underworld from which he won’t find it easy to escape. With a comedy tone that borders Tarantino’s style and a precise, fast timing, Clubbing goes into a territory that’s usually relegated by New Argentine Cinema –the depiction of the urban, streetwise interior of the country– and delivers a handful of unforgettable characters, like a small and convincing amateur crime boss who enjoys philosophical reflection and practices an everyday existentialism for the new man. –Mar del Plata International Film Festival
