While it doesn't diminish my appreciation of the movie, I didn't have a "clue" that this was adapted from a Jane Austen novel. Interesting
Clueless is a 90's classic, it's a fun and often pretty funny movie with tons of great lines. Do not judge this film from the cover of the poster, it looks like a chick flick on the outside but on the inside its a movie than even guys can understand and like.
Modern day Jane Austen (Emma) adaptation. Tardiness speech and highway scenes are very funny. Clearly Heckerling's best. - Do you like Billie Holiday? - I love him.
On one hand, this movie seems to celebrate everything that was wrong with 90's youth culture. On the other hand, it's a sharply written film with superb dialogue and a bevy of star-making performances. Any writer worth their salt will tell you that, ironically enough, it takes a keen intellect to be able to write believably dumb and vacuous characters, and writer/director Amy Heckerling absolutely nailed it with "Clueless." A celluloid time capsule of the 90's.
Sweet, colourful pop escapism that gently pokes fun at shallow valley girls. Refreshingly clever and unpretentious compared to the obnoxious John Hughes movies that came years before and the grating teen comedies its success spawned.
Tirando John Hughes, que é café com leite nesse assunto, esse é o melhor teen movie ever.
I bought furry pens (one of which was eaten by my dog). I watched the television show. I shopped at Contempo Casuals. That is all.
Hermetic vanity fair brailled on palimpsestic plates. Oral, body and sign language latinize under tectonic shifts and collide creating grating edges. Heckerling lends gossip and image a structural space to build mansions within dialectical dens, which may be what causes that dilating distortion.
A "Mean Girls" for the generation before it and a taste of Blair Waldorfs to come, this film is still funny and sometimes hilarious with a drink inside you while watching. Ultimately 1990s, Alicia Silverstone plays a high-school queen bee whose world is shopping, etiquette and boys. Still, the music is a lot better than what you'd find today.
This movie is actually really good! I recommend this highly to everyone, not just teenagers.
