This just felt like Jim Jarmusch showing off his Christmas card list. And I could TOTALLY go with out ever hearing Meg White talk ever again. The Molina/Coogan one was great and obviously the Bill Murray/Rza/Gza segment I have to like or I'll have no street cred with the Wu. The rest exist, I guess.
The Bill Murray-Wu Tang Clan is the best, with Iggy Pop-Tom Waits and ALfred Molina-Steve Coogan scene being very close
Ive always wanted to see this film, and I have to admit I hate my self for not watching from before. Honestly love the characters, the way each one shows the true intentions, personalities and ethical moral of people. Thats all this movie, is and I find it incredible, I think everyone should watch this movie, and learn from it characters.
one or two scenes are a little boring (maybe because those actors aren't charismatic enough, like in the scene with the two french guys ... ) but it's an amazing movie in which the balance of power between any human beings is perfectly illustrated ! so now let's think, is Jarmusch the dominant or the dominated style?
A bit absurd with off-beat humors and thankfully unpretentious. Love the concept, the casts, the conversationalism, loveeee the choice of black and white, the self irony, the awkwardness, the facial expressions, the eye-view shots also how the people smoke and pour their coffee or tea. This film would not be for everyone and it is ambiguous, but charming nevertheless. And its quotable too. Not all of the "segments" caught my attention, but the ones that do, do it well. It really sunk in for me.
For some reason the constant birds eye view shots and the simultaneous clanking of the coffee cups bugged me.
all i need today is a good worker's coffee, Mahler's I am lost to the world, and then maybe a little nap
A zany little feature made of short films all centred around coffee and cigarettes. It may sound like some NYU student's thesis film, but Jarmusch makes it work, with random cameos from Steve Buscemi, Cate Blanchett, and best of all, Bill Murray.
Funny collection of skits showing the intricacies of conversation and how certain people assumed dominant or submissive roles when talking.
The Molina/Coogan segment was pure genius. Also, Cate Blanchett is trully awesome, Bill "motherfucking" Murray with Wu-Tang boys. Iggy Pop!
i dont like coffee and i dont smoke but i do think that this movie is briliant
surprisingly inspiring. thankful for this inspiration because i was in a writing slump until the viewing.
