Untitled

Saw this years ago, and would love to see it again. It’s pretty much the only movie where you can see Vincent Price in adventure hero mode, jumping through windows in slow motion and hitting people with a mace. What I mainly remember about Confessions of an Opium Eater are the oddly lyrical moments of pulp poetry scattered throughout, as well as the plot elements that seemed a possible influence on John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China. Knowing Carpenter’s love of the B-films of his youth and fondness for referencing them, I’m pretty sure this is no coincidence.
