Medical student Frank (Emil Johnsen) is in the midst of stressful exams when the girl next door (Ylva Gallon) rings the doorbell. In spite of his unwelcoming, almost hostile, attitude she keeps coming back, more and more often. Things don’t seem quite right between her and her mysterious biker boyfriend (Peter Stormare) and over the course of a few intense days, everything comes to a head. Corridor, one of the final two films in the Rookie project – SFI’s commitment to first-time directors – is part of last year’s Swedish wave of independent horror movies, but this film reaches further than most. The directing duo’s Kafkaesque approach from the short film Rosenhill (GIFF 2009) makes a return in this horrifying vision of the consequences of solitude. –Göteborg International Film Festival
