Police officer Georg (Matthias Brandt) is very popular among his colleagues for being calm and cool-headed. His partner, Michael (Wotan Wilke Mšhring), also admires him for his seemingly harmonious marriage to Anne (Victoria Trauttmansdorff), an attractive primary-school teacher. After Georg is promoted, he begins to lose “intact” family life. One Christmas, the conflicts that have been dominating the couple’s lives for years start to surface. He wrote the screenplay for the TV movie Unser Reigen (directed by Horst Königstein) in 2006. Counterparts is Jan Bonny’s feature film debut.
