Great perfromances by Stanwyck, Hayden and Burr. But the real star of the show, in my opinion, is the brilliant, morally complex script by Jo Eisinger.
A fascinating late film-noir with bright, almost-TV style lighting and low-budget trappings that is the hallmark of that genre in the late fifties. You might call it murder a-la-Sirk, given the social dimensions of this movie has to say. But it is also Stanwyck's final film noir and its really her film all the way.
