After a psychotic religious prophet murders his family, Boris Dakota (C. Thomas Howell) lives on as an assassin, also known as a “shepherd,” in a new post-apocalyptic world in which feuding religious cults rule society. When given the assignment to kill a rival shepherd, Dakota instead decides to join forces with the young woman and her child for a mission to achieve justice and restore the world to its former order.
