When a stranger rides into town with a wanted man in tow, he forever alters the fabric of a once-peaceful village. Piotr Uklanski directs this artfully deconstructed spaghetti Western, often credited as the first such film to come out of Poland. Paying homage to Hollywood classics of the genre, Uklanski packs in plenty of gunfights and has his characters speak in heavily accented English.
Polish spaghetti western with Val Kilmer as guest star. Kilmer is rather good considering the fact that he's playing the role of a dead man. The director is gifted and the film is way better than the majority of the spaghetti westerns shot in the 60's and the early 70's. Bloody and offensive, DEAD MAN'S BOUNTY is a very good surprise. Recommended.
