I think this picture is great. I just loved every part of it. It’s very interesting to watch and just look like with the all the images that are very different to another picture that is not made from Jeunet. I think there were so many cute and funny moments of the films. I loved the ending and the meeting of the two lovers in the picture. In every sense this picture is truly very original and new… I feel like more pictures should be made with this amount of effort and quality.

Awesome everything. Everything about this movie is jaw-dropping, from the quirky idiosyncrasies of each tenant to the astounding cinematography by Darius Khondji. Not to mention some of the coolest opening credit titles I’ve ever seen.
I love the unique 50’s feel this movie vibrates with. From the clothing of the characters to all the little gizmos and gadgets we see Dominique Pinon playing with, it provides the film with a wave of fresh air (in a rather musky environment). Delicatessen also has a very Gilliam-esque vibe to it. Personally, I love Terry Gilliam, so this is a major plus for me, and the Troglodytes look like they came straight out of Brazil.
I feel that part of the charm of this film is how sweetly innocent Pinon and Marie-Laure Dounac are. I don’t know exactly how to explain it, but in such a rotten and dank environment they truly shine with their purity. In all honesty I can’t think of a single thing that didn’t sit with me well. I can’t think of a single flaw and there isn’t a single thing I would change about Delicatessen. This is probably the most skewed review I have ever done. Oh well.
