Henrikas Šablevičius, the founder of the Cinema and Television Faculty in the Lithuanian Music and Theatre academy, was born in Lyduvenai, Raseiniai district. He graduated from the studio of Lithuanian Drama Theatre in 1951, was acting in the Young Spectator’s Theatre in Kaunas. Later on he was working as the directors assistant in the Lithuanian Cinema Studio, cinema director in the National Television and Radio Comitee, and since 1971 – in Lithuanian Cinema Studio. His first steps in the cinema was the screenplay for the film by Arūnas Žebriūnas “The Last Shot”. Henrikas Šablevičius was awarded the National Culture and Art award in 1989.
