No one makes movies like David Lean, and Doctor Zhivago is just another great film on a long list of incredible films from this equally incredible film maker. It’s a story of love, war, abandonment, forbidden love, and freedom. Omar Shariff is just as great of an actor as he is great to look at, as well as Julie Christie. Alec Guiness I felt was a tad bit under used, he really is one of cinema’s greats, but he does a great job with whats given. The visuals in this film are just fantastic. There are times when you can feel the sun on your face and other times when you can feel the ice on your fingertips. It covers all the bases, and is topped with a beautiful score, strong imagery, great acting and a director as epic as his films!
