Stuart Gordon is underrated. his first three features make up a terrific unsung horror trilogy. Its interesting in the first two films Gordon tacking very adult themes of sexuality and death and in Dolls he applies the same sensibilities to childhood. Most of it unfolds like a Disney channel movie but as soon as violence breaks out you remember its a Stuart Gordon film and it makes for jaunting first viewing.
