Don's Plum

Just like every Saturday, they plan to meet at Don’s Plum, where, as usual, the major challenge is to pick up a female companion.

Brad’s all fixed up. Sara, on whom he has had his eye for quite some time, has agreed to meet his mates. At first, Ian is dealt nothing but a series of rebuffs, but then he meets the voluptuous Juliet who, much to his surprise, says yes. Jeremy takes a more adventurous tack, cruising along the streets of Los Angeles he simply picks up a hitchhiker.

But as for Derek – bleak is the only way to describe his situation.

So what happens when four guys and three girls meet each other in a café and are joined by another, and sit there, all squeezed up into a corner of the diner as the clock nears midnight? They talk, they drink coffee, they talk. About sex – gay sex, bi-sex, good sex and bad sex. About life. The good times and the bad. About suicide, and sexual harassment. They talk about love, chomp on cold, soggy chips and drink yet more coffee. The hours go by, hours filled with laughter, revelations and anger.
