great film. i enjoy it a lot. and the pastiche is modern and funny because they talk of things that the movies they spoof wouldn't even dare mention.
yes, there's something disappointing about the plot. But still, you can *can't* fall for Ewan's big shiny smiles..
HATERS GONNA HATE this film is harmless (esp. considering it's a rom-com). It's very colorful and playfully spoofs Doris Day/Rock Hudson comedies of the 60s. Also, EWANNNN!

One of my dirty pleasures is the late 50s early 60s sex comedies of Rock Hudson and Doris day ... thus making this film quite a dirty pleasure in its own right too.
Ewan McGregor has never looked more handsome. It's too bad the film was a car wreck.
I saw this in a theater in 2003 when it opened. There was one other person in the theater, my date. Seriously.
