The lack of female characters is part of one of the many layered gags.
If you can just imagine most of the subject matter in the film is based on real events. Ohhh man the anti "Fail Safe"
DR. STRANGELOVE captures the strange, MAD logic of nuclear strategy and Cold War thinking nicely.
Funniest movie ever probably, also, my favorite Kubrick film. This is exactly my type of humor.
If there's such thing as reincarnation, I wish you would born and be you again, Mr. Kubrick.
Although this was a funny movie I couldn't help but find it very serious. To me, this film is the essence of "dark comedy" as I really didn't find myself laughing all that much, however I was enjoying every second of this film. Of course, Peter Sellers has his moments, especially as his third persona Dr. Strangelove, yet knowing Kubrick there is a lot underneath the surface that demands I watch it again.
Wohoo what a movie! Loved the satirical style of Kubrick's storytelling of such a serious issue. Still smiled thinking of the ending :)
i love kubrick. that being said i probably like eyes wide shut better than this movie. go figure.
Love this movie! That Part where strangelove's right hand does a Nazi salute by it's own is hilarious
Best movie title ever. This is one of those films that everyone should see before they die.
C. Scott is hilarious. I'm not a huge fan of Sellers', but I can't deny it, he's great in this movie.
A great film by one of my favorite directors, always makes me laugh. A must watch.
It represents US, with its mad man and stupidity but a freindly nation, Russia with its innocent type of people but traitors, and Germany that has failed on the WW II but still remain as the most intelligent and manipulative of all... It made me laugh but it was scary... Its just my opinion and please don't take it personally....
I've got a bit of a disappointment after reading the nationality of this terrific comedy. What did I expect? Provided it had been American, they would have shot Kubrick at one. Anyway, the issue dealt here initially has no tie with humor so the worth of making it awfully funny amazes me throughout the plot. I mustn't miss Peter Sellers. He's definitely chameleonlike. Not many'll remember George C. Scott, so I'll do.
If I make one movie as good as DR. STRANGELOVE in the course of my life I will die a happy filmmaker.
