Bigger portions to an appetizer that was served in 3 Extremes. Much more involving plot and an ending that is quite a mouthful.

I think, this kind of things really exist in China. Imagine that, there are over one billion people, as well as one child policy. The policy just stopped last year 2010.

YOU WILL THINK TWICE NEXT TIME YOU TAKE A BITE OUT OF THOSE DUMPLINGS BEFORE YOU.

Daniel S. I saw a few weeks ago the 45 minutes DUMPLINGS segment of THREE...EXTREMES, a compilation of Asian horror movies. It was a kind of résumé of this DUMPLINGS with a more simple screenplay but it gave me the desire to see the full-length version. Now if you can forget the morbid main idea of the film, you will enjoy a cynical denunciation of our modern societies. Furthermore, the cinematography is absolutely gorgeous. No wonder, the man in charge is no less than Christopher Doyle, already responsible for the photography of Wong Kar Wai's IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE and Zhang Yimou's HERO. Highly recommended.
