Helmed by Jeff Burr, this resonant character study stars Duane Whitaker as Eddie Presley, a luckless former Elvis impersonator who gets a chance at a comeback after being suspended from his rent-a-cop gig. But while he painstakingly prepares for the one-off show as the hip-swiveling king of rock ‘n’ roll, Eddie begins to stew in a pot of deep-seated angst and self-doubt. Clu Gulager is a standout as a randy talent agent.
