Director
Nikolaus Geyrhalter
Producer, director and cameraman Nikolaus Geyrhalter was born in Vienna in 1972. At the age of twenty-two he founded his own production company (Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion). Among his films are the award-winning Pripyat, Our Daily Bread and Elsewhere and his latest film is 7915 KM. In 2003 Nikolaus Geyrhalter received the Austrian State Award for Film Art. —doxafestival.ca

What is the spirit of humanity at the dawn of the millennium? In the year 2000, Geyrhalter and his team traveled to the farthest reaches of the world to record the lives of people living there.For a duration of 4 hours, it is as if you've traveled the world and glanced over the core of humanity and the eroding cultural landscape brought by the interference of capitalism, environmental destruction, globalization.
