I’m glad this could show up in time to be my 3000th rated film. In my opinion the best Joe D’Amato film and one of the crowning achievements of 70s sleaze films. What other film combines so many elements in quite so absurd a fashion. A movie that turns from a Shock Corridor rip-off into a sex film into a fantasically campy cannibal film. Some of the most entertaining dubbing, wonderful overacting, loony plot twists and truly terrible make-up you’re likely to find in a film of any vintage and for once all those things are strike in its favour. This is the kind of movie that obsessions with terrible movies are made of. I remember screening this for friends of mine and just loving the hell out of their varied reactions to it. This is a litmus test, to be sure, watch this and you’ll know if you’ve got it in you to really treasure terrible cinema.
