Synopsis

Heiko, 29, is a dance teacher who has been battling with a fatal illness. After his continued survival, he receives the diagnosis that he does not have much longer to live. He decides to return to his parents’ house to die. There, his relatives and friends cope with loss and grief in different ways.

Our take

Can an illness let us appreciate the small things in life from a new perspective? Presented at Berlinale where it was warmly received by the festival’s audiences, Everywhere We Are is a tender story that celebrates life within death. A tale of a family in between holding on and letting go.
