Borivoj Dovniković-Bordo

Bordo was born in 1930. He is one of the pioneers of Croatian (Yugoslav) animation and belongs to the Zagreb School of Animated Film. He’s working on animation since 1950 as a designer and an animator, and started making his independent films in 1961.

Parallel with animation Bordo was working on newspaper cartoon, illustration, comic strip and graphic design.

During his 60-years long career Bordo has received a big number of international grants and awards for his independent animated films and activities in animation.

Bordo was actively participing in the organization of the World Festival of Animated Films in Zagreb since its very beginning (1972).

He has acted as a Jury- or Selection Committee member at 25 international animation festivals.
