I find this a fascinating idea for a film. But I certainly wouldn’t want to live under such a controlling government that didn’t want me to think for myself.
I know Truffaut was a fan of Hitchcock. So his influence along with Bernard Herrmann’s score put together made me feel like I was watching “Vertigo” in some parts. Especially during that dream sequence!
Although Hitchcock’s film is miles ahead of this, I still believe that this is a good film, possibly even a great one.
Some nice direction from Truffaut and the actors did a fine job.
Overall I enjoyed it. Actually even more so than “Jules and Jim”!
