Having grown up a fan of Dahl I have largely found any adaptation of his work to be fairly disappointing. Alas, Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr Fox really impressed. Its worth noting that I am a huge fan of Anderson’s work, and was pleased to find this fits in his body of work perfectly. The usual Anderson themes are present, but rather than hindering the fairly basic storyline of the original novel, these additions really add something.
