Making a solid action film is an elegant art that's slowly dying away. Today's action films are mostly computer-animated toy commercials. They've lost sight of the real deal. It's about grounded hyperbole, clarity and focus; being imaginative but not over-complicating the mayhem. I can't say I'm familiar with any other films in the series, but "Fast Five" gets all of this. It is the real deal.

Weinberg Reviews FAST FIVE

By Twitchfilm.com on May 17, 2011
I am not a fan of the “Fast Furious” franchise. I felt that The Fast and the Furious (2001) was a rather generic police procedural that borrowed liberally from Point Break (of all movies) while delivering
