Making a solid action film is an elegant art that's slowly dying away. Today's action films are mostly computer-animated toy commercials. They've lost sight of the real deal. It's about grounded hyperbole, clarity and focus; being imaginative but not over-complicating the mayhem. I can't say I'm familiar with any other films in the series, but "Fast Five" gets all of this. It is the real deal.
Heaps more entertaining than the other Fast and Furious movies... But I still can't figure out what Gal Gadot and Elsa Pataky's characters' function except to add more females to the movie...
