Weird, uneven and kinda frightening. An experimental film, mostly successful.
It has a very much disturbing and terrifying scenes, like a kafkaesque atmosphere. This is the best animation that I've ever seen!
This superb collection of short animated horror films shows just what can be done with both animation and the horror genre. Five unique artists with diverse and often brilliant animation styles that manage to coalesce into an extraordinary whole. This is a near masterpiece that deserves wider recognition.
"Fear(s) of the Dark" is as good as "Persepolis." It's full of mystery, suspense, horror, intrigue, and really badass animation.
Sooo good and creepy as hell. The man with the dogs is one of the most terrifying characters I have ever seen on the screen. Got to see this on the big screen as well.
The textures of the animation are really great, but the writing feels a little weak in most episodes. It's the final episode that makes this film worth watching though. A wonderfully cinematic tale that reall plays with light and dark to great effect, and basically without dialogue. Worth watching for this episode alone.
