Capturing the energy, enthusiasm and frustration of the YouTube generation, acclaimed young director David Dusa’s debut feature boldly blends Internet documentation of the aftermath of the Iranian elections in 2009 with a moving love story. Miss Dalloway, a young woman from Tehran’s high society, is sent to Paris by her parents to protect her from the political violence in Iran. It is June 2009 and supporters of the Iranian opposition have taken to the streets to protest election results. When journalists are barred from doing their work, protestors take to the net, collecting and broadcasting information through websites like YouTube and using twitter to coordinate their actions. Their brutal images reach the world public directly. Miss Dalloway falls in love with Gecko, the bellhop at her hotel, but she is obsessed with the bloodshed. Through her, Gecko confronts his own place in the world and together they start a quest for a new identity. The film is born from the encounter of these two individuals and propelled by their will to freedom. The Flowers always rebel. –!F Istanbul Film festival
