Synopsis

Jeanne’s awakened by howls from her autistic teenager, Mandy. She calms her singing: “Lady bug, fly away home.”

At work, Jeanne’s interrupted; Mandy’s tantrummed at school. The principal suggests Mandy needs Residential placement.

Jeanne meets a neighbor, Tom. Sparks fly. Then the school calls; Mandy’s being expelled. Jeanne must work while caring for Mandy. Despite this stess, Jeanne’s flirtation with Tom progresses, until she panics, rejecting him.
Later, while dog walking, Mandy runs away. Tom discovers and returns her. At last, Jeanne accepts Residential as the solution. —SXSW
