Forrest Gump is one of the most lovable characters in cinema history. Tom Hanks's performance is significantly mind-blowing. It is easy to get drawn into the beauty of this film. The story is influential and heartwarming.

If you're a normal human being, you can't help but crying like a baby when Robin Wright dies.

I am not the type of person to cry at movies, but Forrest Gump is one of the very few films that make me teary eyed; at least a little.

Poor Forrest couldn't catch a break , his mom was a floosy , jenny was an HIV having floosy . But he loved , and he loved hard I can respect him for that . I love this movie and it's plot . Totally fell head over heels for Tom Hanks after this role.

People, people, people. This movie is a fairy tale, like Snow White and Pan's Labyrinth. It wasn't made to be taken too seriously as all you seemingly are taking it as. It's a tall tale, it's delightfully funny while capturing American sentimentalism as well. Forrest is the modern day Mr. Smith - getting ahead with innocence and optimism. I guess it might just be too lighthearted for cynical film snobs?

Disgusting, sentimental, reactionary tall tale for all the Forrest Gumps in the world.

It's strange to think the man who made this infuriatingly wretched movie also brought the world Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Back to the Future. What's more offensive: the way it romanticizes being retarded or how cute it (wrongly) thinks its pop history humor is? If Crash is the worst Best Picture winner of the 00s, this is most certainly the worst of the 90s.

Moron. A Beautiful Mind is worse than Crash and Braveheart, Shakespeare in Love, and American Beauty are all worse than this.

How this won best picture over Quiz Show and Pulp Fiction is a mystery that no one will ever be able to solve. An average, 2/5 film winning over a 5/5, French New-Wave influenced masterpiece. Weird, huh?

People here are being to severe about the film. It's just storytelling. To take it so serius to the point to think its disrespectiful.. The excess sentimentalism, though, is irritating.

This movie hasn't aged well or its just been spoofed too much. I prefer the life stories of Edward Bloom and Benjamin Button over Mr. Gump. Lieutenant Dan though still rocks.
